[Mod Request] Is it possible to make a mod that replaces side rolls with strafes?

I'm not really sure they're called that but when you attack and then side roll, Nero, Dante, Vergil and possibly V (haven't tried yet) perform a different dodge motion and animation so I'm wondering if there can be a mod that allows you to do this without attacking first, thereby removing dodge rolls entirely
