Random in game freezing

I just finished loading my game up with mods and am running into some issues. I have experienced no CTDs this time around but now my game is freezing up. It tends to freeze when I come in contact with NPC's. I played through the beginning of the game following the main quest up until i killed the dragon at the western watchtower.

 

I had Warzones installed and was then making my way up the road towards Windhelm and started to have the game freeze when I would come in contact with these groups. It wouldn't be instant though. Sometimes it would freeze if I died, sometimes mid swing or as I was charging a spell.

 

I removed that and had no issue in the same area but then the game froze at another point where a group of NPC's were near Windhelm.

 

I'm not sure if the freezing is solely related to NPC's or maybe magic because magic tends to be involved in the fights, but I'm still getting the issues.

I've run BOSS and have also cleaned via the instructed mods on BOSS with TESVEdit and still am getting this problem.

 

The only changes I've made to my .ini files were either required by mods or from the S.T.E.P guide.

1. You have alot of mods that run scripts. You should reduce it

2. If you are using the Hi-Res.esp's, you should consider using the Unofficial Hi-Resolution Patch

3. The StaticMeshImprovement esp's are made redundant by the unoffical skyrim patch

4. Reduce the amount and/or the resolution of your textures, you might also want to consider removing SFO. It can be taxing on even the most powerful computers, and is incompatible with tmods that edit exteriorr cells

5. UFO is known to be buggy, I recommend switching to Amazing Follower Tweaks as it has more support and updates

6. You have your unsorted mods sitting at the bottom of your load order, not good.

7. Try starting a new game with only weapon, armor, and overhaul mods installed, Nothing that contains scripts.

Avoid running quest mods unless you're currently running through them. And keep a save from before the quest mod install that you can revert to once you're done with said quest. (Examples: Moonpath, Wyrmstooth.)

 

If you're not running a newer version of Dynavision (one built for MCM,) the file can bloat your game. I'm going to assume you are, though.

 

If you're using Climates you don't need Remove Ambient Interior Fog.

 

Footprints, Wet & Cold, and Deadly Dragons are all mods that add scripts... but if you want to keep using your current saves you can't afford to disable them now (not that they're bad mods, they're all fantastic. Just be careful not to add too many files of the sort.)

 

Remember that scripts tend to "burn" into your save game, so you may find your best bet is to simply start a new game.

SFO's not a big deal, it only has a handful of textures (mostly tree branches and the like) that are much higher resolution than vanilla. I'm running a fair toaster-oven with it without a hitch.
