Slipofmind
Ok so I dumped my Fallout NV so I could do a clean install. I made sure to delete the file folder and the .ini folder under my games before reinstalling. Now everytime I try to start the game I get this error message form steam."Failed to start game" (app already running)See the steam support site for more informationNow when I go to the support site this is what i seeFailed to Start the Game (Missing Executable)I see the error "Failed to Start the Game (Missing Executable)" when launching a game through Steam. What can I do?This error results from the improper delivery of necessary game files. Please follow the steps below to initiate a small download of the missing content:Completely exit Steam.Navigate to your Steam installation folder (~C:\Program Files\Steam) Delete the 'appcache' folder.Restart your computer and attempt to launch the game through SteamIf the issue persists, it may be that a program on your machine is interfering with the proper delivery of game files:Please temporarily uninstall any applications listed in our Programs Which May Interfere with Steam.Additionally, it is possible that anti-virus software is reporting game files as malicious. Now I have tryed what was listed on the support page a few times, still getting the same error. I checked the list of programs that steam says may cause problems and i am only running one of them. Avast. Tryed shuting off Avast and still get the same problem. I have tried Launching the game using FalloutNV.exe, FalloutNVLauncher.exe, NMM and steam, all give the same error. When using the FalloutNV.exe I get the slpash screen that allows you to set the game setting, which never use to happen. Before the clean install my game ran fine never had any problems. I have not added or removed any other programs. So now I am here asking for help. Has anyone else ran into this problem??
