Sit anywhere mod

Hi,

 

This would appeal to all the hardcore players, in skyrim there is a "Sit anywhere mod" that obviously allows you to sit on the floor by your fire, or on a log / rock, whatever... WHen settling down for the night, this simple mod would make a convincing finish to other campfire / bedroll mods that already exist for NV.

 

I've seen wanderers / NPC's sat on low sleepers with their legs to one side in NV, so their must be an animation for this that could be used.

 

Any of you clever modders out their care to make this mod...im guessing it would be simple enough. In skyrim, you just selected a "Sit down" action via the HUD, and you automatically stood up when you pressed WSAD...would be good if you could draw your weapon from a sat position aswell

I think this would be pretty cool actually but i dont know if its possible

it should be possible. i think it's a good idea, and because the animation is already there in the game files, it wouldn't be too hard to make something like this. i would do this, but my G.E.C.K doesn't want to work, so i really can't.

yeah I think I can do this. I remembered some animations in honest hearts about tribals sitting "Indian style" and just looked at the bsa. SitCrossFloor animations are in there and I think they are just hte ticket. But there are restrictions on idle animations in re: to the player, but there are some situations (dead money) where a idle animation is called on the player and maybe that can be a good example to duplicate.

Of note: I've recently downloaded a fantastic game changing mod "Endless warfare" which i have set so that it just adds a few more gang members walking around the place, anyhow, with alot more NCP's around looking for things to do, i've now noticed a few just sit down for a while on the road / track whatever,this is without and chairs!!, infact a good example, is in Novac by the hotel, a couple of wanderers just sit on the floor both cross legged and with legs to one side "maybe for women"

 

So there is definitely the animations in place, its just whether you clever guy's can make the player do it on request..

 

Good luck, sitting on a train carriage, or up on a lofted billboard (climb ladders mod), or indeed just by your fire, would add greatly to the hardcore mode, and lose the need for the slightly unwieldy and unrealistic requirement to carry a lawn chair with you!!

Any joy? have you managed to take a look at this?.....now i've been playing for a while with the 'Endless warfare mod', and have seen loads of NPC's sitting down on the floor directly (no chair / logs etc), infact their seems to be a number of floor sitting animations, not just cross legged.

 

Not sure if this makes it any more do-able, but please keep us up-dated if your looking in to it.

 

I was thinking a simple hotkey (that wont interfere with others or can be accidentally hit ) like CTRL+E to action a sit down would be good.

Good deal, always nice when you can reduce a dependency.

 

but please keep us up-dated if your looking in to it.

Havn't had a chance to look in to it, but I do have a pretty good idea of how it should be done. But no I don't have any claim on it, if someone else wants to put it together before I get the time to muddle through it, then feel free.
