hector530
i have permanent debuff on my character affecting perception, energy weapons, lockpick and explosives. the pipboy status shows no effects but my perception and skills have the "(-)" sign so something is lowering them. does anyone know a console code to restore stats and remove debuffs or a mod that could help? i can use player.forceav but it will still have the negative sign by the skill and i dont really want that. Randu
I seem to have the same problem but for me it's minus Charisma affecting barter and speech. I have no addictions: Went to Doc Mitchell he says nothing wrong with me, also used the med lab in both Underwater Hideout and Underground Hideout mods to remove addictions, restore health limbs etc., no change. I have no effects listed in pipboy. I have no companions hired. I've dropped every item I'm carrying other than undroppable quest items, and none of those list any effects. Eating "Fixer" doesn't do anything either. Checked bugs under FNV Addictions, it says "Completing Dead Money with an addiction, it is possible for it to become permanent." I have not done Dead Money yet. Any thoughts? Edited June 18, 2013 by Randu
Randu
Well I figured mine out yay  I did a 'getav charisma' and it showed 4.80, so I did a 'forceav charisma 5' and it got rid of the - sign. I think this was caused by a Usable Toilets mod I had installed at one time, but was uninstalled a while back, and I recall that my 'need to pee', or maybe wash, lowered one of stats slightly. To the OP, I'd say try seeing if one of your mods, or an uninstalled mod you once had, may have changed your stat. Also try enabling/disabling hardcore mode as I recall that toilet mod said something about enabling it or using options for it when it first ran, and one of your mods may have done this as well. Kasunator
Sorry for resurrecting this topic, but could you let me know if you solved the problem? I'm having the same one due to an quite irresponsable use of Silver Sting (the poison). I have used it in my companion's weapon and was standing in front of him when he attacked and enemy and I was poisoned. The poison bugs if used on the player, I had my strength damaged by 1 for 60 seconds (the duration of the poison) and now I can't put my strength back to normal with the console command you mentioned without stil having the (-) and the game considering that I have 10 strength instead of 4 (which is the correct). dubiousintent
Resurrecting a 3 year old thread is unlikely to get a response from any of the original contributors. If you have a known game bug that hasn't been fixed by now, it isn't likely to be fixed any time soon. Of course, it might have been fixed by one of the "fixer mods" like YUP or MMUE, but that won't help your current situation if they weren't already installed. Your best bet would be to go back to a save prior to your getting hit with the poison. While not a fix, if you need a "workaround" to correct your strength you might try the mod "Fallout NV Cheat Terminal Redux". It provides a way to change your stats "in-game" using console commands (but without the console). Big advantage is you don't have to learn the console commands to do so, it won't affect "achievements" like using the console can, and you can run it as often as needed in a session. -Dubious- Edited May 19, 2016 by dubiousintent
