Thor.
Funding and more a leverage for future Money spending on future pc chips and gpu's alike. They get some revenue from Sony and ms per console i would beleive sense its all AMD parts in the consoles alone. Royaltys alike, not to mention shareholders. Lets just call it a future investment, it was a very clever move on AMD's part. Its only speculation but Sony and ms - "AMD" Worked closely together, and not to mention bragged pretty much on its homepage how all Next gen consoles are running AMD parts. The thing is that the specs to closely resemble each other that it must mean something went on behind the scenes was happening with AMD and the Console manufacturers. I don't think it was a independent thought, AMD laid out what was available pretty much.Intel Pretty much lost Microsofts support during this process, its another thing i have thought over as well. Once upon a time MS and Intel had a thing going. In my Mind Intel's future looks grim, unless they step up production and competition. Edited June 21, 2013 by Thor. Kinda does make sense when you consider it. That last line there though. It'll take a lot for Intel to have a grim future, as when you consider that a lot of the gaming PC market sits with them through sheer loyalty. My mistake: dumping cash on a new Haswell. The performance increase is negligible compared to my old 3770K, and the price was just a stupid amount to pay for just a CPU/Mobo. Though I will admit, it's a truly amazing quality mobo. Thor.
I feel like posting this where its more visible on the net, it might stun some of those console fanboys out there lol, probably not sense they are both literally using the same parts. Except for Sony and the gddr5 ram. Not to mention the games exclusives vs wars. :teehee:
