VirtusMarik
Hi, I'm currently trying to make a re-textured remnants power armor. I already have the custom texture made and the armor made stat wise, I just don't know how to proceed. I've looked around and haven't found how to make sure the fan on the back and emblem on the shoulder works, seeing as they are both separate textures. Any and all help would be appreciated. Polyfemus
If I'm understanding your question correctly you want to know how to retexture all the parts of the power armor. Like how the armor is made up of different limbs you want to be able to open up the textures for each and retexture them right? Well the way that I know how to do it would be to of course to firstly extract the meshes and textures in the New Vegas BSAs with the BSA Browser. Then open up the .nif file of the armor you want to retexture to find out the directories of all the relevent textures used in the armor. Like so: http://i.imgur.com/jOpFfwI.png So you find the paths for all the relevent textures you want to retexture, retexture them as you want (and/or apply them to a new GECK object whatever you're trying to do). I'm not sure if that answered your question but I hope this helps.
VirtusMarik
I already extracted the textures so I have them flat like a map and have edited them to the custom colors i want. What I'm trying to figure out is how to get my custom texture to work on my custom armor. I already tried to put it on my armor but it doesn't change it's appearance, and when I tried to add it to the world model, the thing you pick up to get it in your inventory, it just flickers between a gavel texture and a solid black texture. Also what I'm trying to do is to make sure the fan in the back still stays there when I apply my texture but I don't know where that texture goes. Also I want to change the enclave E decal on the shoulder to a different symbol but can't find it under the forms list. I followed the tutorial in this thread to get where I am now but I have just hit a wall, or am I trying to do an out of date method?EDIT: I was able to get most of the texture to work, only problem is now the decal has turned into the dds and the left arm hasn't changed to the new texture. Good news though the fan didn't change. So now all I need help with is getting the decal to work and to figure out what what is making my left arm not change.
