bben46
Hialgoboost seems to work by changing the video settings on the fly to try to maintain a relatively constant fps. So you will be sacrificing some eye candy and distance vision to get some fps. But in places where you are not moving. or there are no other NPCs the video settings will rise as long as the fps stays above a certain value. On your system this may not be a bad compromise. but you will have to read the installation instructions. Note that it can be toggled on or off so you can turn it off until you see you may be going into combat.
Benwick
Ok thanks ill look into that. Any use in editing the ini's?
markus242005
I would only edit the ini's in the event that you're still getting FPS loss after installing mods, and trying to drop settings down to alleviate FPS loss. If you're looking to make it look prettier, anything you modify in the ini's is going to cost you FPS.
Benwick
Yeah I would only do it at this point to help fps. Maybe Ill look up what to edit. Still wondering how to check on my texture mods? I know now its not working but how would I enable it? Its activated in nmm
markus242005
Can you link the texture mods? If they were installed using NMM, they should theoretically have an esp to activate them, and thus would show up in your BOSS list as active or disabled plugins. If they are newer, or lesser known texture packs, they may be listed as unrecognized plugins in BOSS, and there is a separate screen with the unrecognized plugins that you didn't post in a spoiler tag in your OP or second post. There are certain texture mods that have no esp, and need to be installed manually, if that was the case, you should remember manually installing the mods, and you may have inadvertently installed them improperly. As well, HD/2k/4k textures don't make it look as different as many people think. You would need to deactivate the HD texture packs and take screen shots in a place you KNOW for sure the textures you installed are supposed to be present, then reactivate them and take the same screen shots, and compare the two sets of screenshots. You'd be surprised how close they are, it's definitely noticeable when they're compared side by side, but when compared by memory, it's not as distinctive as looking at 2 pictures in front of you at the same time. Benwick
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/607/? ..pretty well known. They were all installed nmm but don't show. I dont know which screen youre referring to. Is it summary? Because that shows no unrecognized plugins. Plugin Type CountRecognised (or sorted by user rules) 12Unrecognised 0Inactive 0All 12Plugin Message Type CountWarning 0Error 0All 6Your masterlist is already at the latest revision (r7226; 2013-06-21). No update necessary. No change in recognised plugin list since last run.Note: Latest BOSS threadNote: The BOSS team has been overwhelmed with the popularity of submissions of unrecognised plugins from the BOSS Log and the number of outstanding unique submissions. As of 26 April 2013 we are at over 5500+ plugins to add to the Masterlist dating as far back as September 2012. If you are interested in helping to get these plugins added to BOSS's masterlist, please PM Aellis (Bethesda Softworks Forums or Nexus Mods).Note: Your SKSE is up-to-date. Ive taken screen shots at a quick save looking at the ground and one looking at a character up close. So then when I enable the 2k textures in NMM I can take another screen shot right away when it loads and see if there is any differences -and I assure you there is none. Benwick
It looks like the files are stored away in the Skyrim folders as BSA files
markus242005
It looks like the files are stored away in the Skyrim folders as BSA filesYes, they're going to be BSA's, but a BSA needs a plugin to activate them, have you launched from the vanilla launcher, and checked the data files option to see if they're in fact ticked in that menu? markus242005
Check the name of the BSA, find out if there's an esp with that exact name in the data folder as well, it should literally be the next file if you have them ordered by name. If there is an esp with the same name as the HD texture BSA, then there's no reason it should be in there. If there IS NOT an esp with the same name as the BSA, then the BSA will not load, no matter where it is in the data folder structure. If there's no esp, you can make one with the CK, it's pretty simple, all you need is an esp with the EXACT name of the BSA, and it will load the BSA.
