SangRahl
I JUST had some serious issues with this until I found a post in a 'Talk:' section of the GECK Wiki... Weapons work COMPLETELY differently from armor when it comes to 1stPerson and ground models... The textures changed in the Item Window are for ground view only... There's no need for using Hi-Res textures there, unless you want to make your vidcard work like mad on a less detailed model. For 1stPerson detail, you need to edit (or copy/edit, for new items) the Static model of the item. THIS is used for collision mapping and visual detail when in a character's hands. In my case, I was working on having a unique texture on an in-game weapon... Go to: [World Objects]>[static]>[Weapons]>(insert sub-catagory and model here) If you want something completely new, rename the formID of the static model... otherwise use the [Edit] button to replace the .nif and textures with your prefered mesh and TextureSet.(I'm assuming you've already gone and created these... if not, feel free to search for how to make these either here, at the Bethsoft Forums, or even YouTube has a VERY good video tutorial on TextureSets are made... In fact, that's how I learned how.) Now, back in the [item]>[Weapons]>(insert sub-catagory and model here), select the NEW 1stPerson Static model under the [1stPeron Model Object] pulldown menu. Booyah! You now have a unique weapon model.
Woz616
Thanks for the help; is this for replacing an already exsisting weapon. Or for creating a new weapon? because i am aiming to make a totally new grenade, both model and texture.
