smichael84
New to Skyrim mods, done a LOT of reading and feel like I have a decent handle on it but need an extra bit of help. UNP BaseBattle hardened Body for UNPSporty/Sexy sweat I want to try a skin tone modifier like SevenNBase. That requires a skin texture such as SG textures, and a skeleton such as XP32 which has it's on requirements...so on and so forth. So my questions are these: 1.) Is this even worth it? My character looks ok but is super thin and I want to just kind of experiment with different body types. (Not wanting nude or even super revealing, but a realistic looking body with toned features) 2.) How do you blend all these mods together with overwriting each other making the game crash? I do use NMM and I've had success telling it "NO" when asked to overwrite and then "yes to mod" and that seems to work. But I can only add so many things. Like when I added the above 3 plus a tattoo mod, it took a few tries to get them all to show up. But now when I try to alter the body weight (yes, I use SKSE, SKYUI, the showfacemod mod) it just looks REALLY odd and the weight gets distributed oddly and her chest shape couldn't look more unnatural. I do have SEVERAL armor mods that I use and all of them the file that supports UNP bodies or a optional folder that patches it for UNP. I may be trying to do too many things and it's not possible. If that's the case someone just type "/fail" and I'll get the message. But if you CAN do extensive work to make a truly unique and custom body type, I would very much appreciate a link to a tutorial I haven't seen or just some tips of things to check. Thank you for your time and expertise. -Shane
rhowington
It is probably easier to do on a standalone npc than the whole population. The grey face bug is bound to raise it's ugly head eventually. SG Textures are great when used alone and do come with optional elements. Again, so is Mature Skin Texture but personally I wouldn't mix them. xp32's skeleton is a must have if doing animations. Others may disagree but I use both in my mods and only SG Female Texture Renewal for general Skyrim play.
prod80
UNP Main Body is the most realistic one (just the plain UNP body) and combine that with SG Female skin it's absolutely awesome... you don't need a skeleton... skeleton is for animations, not for looks.... SeveNBase requires XP32 because you have animated 'female parts'. On top of that the body itself is different, but compatible with UNP skins. Because it's a different body (meshes) you need compatible armor to fit around those new meshes. So you cannot simply pick any UNP or whatever armor, you need them to be compatible with SeveNBase (or your body shape will return to vanilla shape when you equip it). This rules out a lot of popular armor mods, like Immersive Armors, which has a UNP patch but as far as I am aware no SeveNBase patch (yet, I guess). Just to understand a bit about the different things you just said... "a body" is 2 parts; meshes (the shape of the body), and textures (the visible parts). They both need to be compatible, so if you choose UNP for the mesh, then you need a texture replacers which is also for UNP. Sticking incompatible textures or meshes together is not going to work. The skeleton is used for animation of the character, being it normal walking, running or sitting down to sword fighting and shooting arrows. A better skeleton like XP32's has much more bones (more parts that can be animated) and thus allows more complex animations than the default skeleton. Here's a head and shoulder shot from character creation menu for those mods (I don't have full body, can make one if you like);http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/6440158-1371159543.jpg
smichael84
Ok, thank you very much for the info. That answered my question perfectly. :smile:edit: At least I thought I had. There is a HUGE neck line and the face looks completely different than the rest of the body. I'm wondering if I just can't mesh all those together.
