CTD. I have tried everything

Just recently i exited Skyrim to install some new mods an uninstall some otheres via. the NMM. Now I suddenly get CTD, when I try to load a game or start a new one.

 

I installed BOSS and let it fix my loadorder, though I had to rearrange many mods myself when it was done. But it's still not working, and i really don't know what to do. Please help guys!!

probably the mods you uninstalled are causing this...

 

it's not very save to uninstall mods on a save game... if you get the message "This save replies on content..blabla" you should read it as: "You can expect trouble and maybe even a broken save"

 

CTD on a new game, after you've installed new mods - uninstall them & check again - then find out why you get CTD using those specific mods (if that is the cause) ... if not and you get CTD during a new game, please post exactly what happens and where...

I have now fixed all the issues caused by my mods according to BOSS, but i still get CTD's. What exactly happens is that when I load a save game, the loading screen appears for a brief moment, and then the game crashes. If I start a new game either the same happens, or the game plays for a few seconds after which it crashes as usual.

 

I REALLY can't figure out what is causing this, bacause I am sure i have arranged my load order correctly:

Which mods have you added last? Disable those.

One guy reported not being able to start a new game with footprints and wet and cold installed... maybe give it a go

 

ps. BOSS is just a guideline, BOSS is terribly behind on updates (doesn't know 1/4th my mods for instance, and they are popular mods)... it is certainly not by any means a definite solution to everything... I don't even use it because it sorts the mods that it does know in a wrong order.

Well something unexpected has happened. BOSS lists many of my mods as having "dirty files". So i tried to uninstall a house mod with many of these dirty files, and when i now start a new game, it lasts a bit longer before I get CTD.

BOSS says i can clean my mods with TES5Edit. Do you guys know if this maybe will help with the CTD's?

Well, I have cleaned all the mods BOSS advised me to with TES5Edit. Both mods AND master files. I run the correct load order, proven by both BOSS and TES5Edit, and i have installed compability patches to various mods via TES5Edit.

 

BUT STILL i can neither load a save or start a new game. Instead I get CTD. And it's really frustrating, because I can't make any sense of it having to CTD just when I'm finished editing my new character on a new save game!

 

If anyone might be able to help or have suggestions i would be in your debt.

Ok, i unabled all my mods and went through them all to see if a mod was causing my game to crash. Apparantly it was: Complete Crafting Overhaul, which has some confusing conflicts with mods that modify recipes. i don't know what that exactly means but i think it covers many mods, so i decided to just not use it until i find a way to enable it.

 

To everyone who have read this post: Remember to clean your master files and mods (I use TES5Edit), check your loadorder (BOSS is a great tool) and install needed patches for some mods (listed by BOSS).
