ChevyTanker
I have just installed the Nico's Daes Rakan complete mod. After fiddling with the installation of NIF, and DDS files, I finally went from having a giant yellow triangle on the screen where they are suppose to be, and got them to show up. However they are all purple and do not show up on my character when I try to equip them!!!! So which installation of what files did I screw up. Meshes or Textures??? ChevyTanker
sorry guys, I'm new to this scene. So where exactly did I go wrong?? Is there someone that can guide me through this please! I got all the Icons right, and the items pictures appear in my inventory in the game. Would I install my DDS files to this location E:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures?? or would it be this location E:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Menus\Icons\Armor, for the armor install for example
Deleted269910User
Correct installation would have been simply copy/pasting the .esp file, meshes -folder and textures -folder to your x:\xxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data -folder. If you fiddle with the filenames or change filepaths, even one bit, you will run into exactly the problems you described. Easiest way for you to correct the installation is to copy/paste the original 'textures' -folder provided in the mod, directly into your x:\xxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data -folder and overwrite all it prompts you to.(Same applies to meshes also, for future installs.) When it says that there is already a Meshes and Texture folder just hit 'OK'. Make sure when you start up the game you go to Data and put an "X" next to the mod. Hope this helps. Am I to assume that I should copy over my Menus folder when I go to copy the Menu folder from the mod??? For example x:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Desktop\Dreadweave Complete by Nicoroshi v1.4\data\textures\Menus would replace x:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Menus sorry it just looks like there are alot of important files in this foler x:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Menus

Yes you have to copy over the entire textures folder including textures\menus. I agree with the other user that suggested using OBMM (Oblivion MOD Manager). If you plan on adding a good number of mods, I would suggest using OBMM to create OMODS. Do a search for the OBMM manual to help you out.
