8MasterDan
I have submitted my description and images for my texture mod. But I don't know how to upload the mod. I don't know what files I have to upload either or what they are called...Yes this is my first time uploading anything here. It is on the Steam workshop called Predator Combat bows. But I don't know how to upload it here...Any help?
8MasterDan
I am a complete noob with computer terminology, but I can learn if someone can walk me through the simple mouse clicking. After all, I figured out how to use the nifskope, gimp, Creation kit etc...so I just need someone to teach me the procedure of uploading the files etc...Thanks. DrakeTheDragon
If you have it on Steam Workshop, it's likely an ESP and a BSA, if any. Now, your first step would be to pack the two into a .7z or .zip with a name of your choosing, or any other archive format allowed for upload. When you're done filling in all information you want, or have to fill in, in the "Add a new mod" page, you just click the "Submit" button and will be lead to the next steps.Your mod entry will already be created at this point, but until you finally "publish" it only you will be able to access it for now. You can then upload all the files you need, in your case likely only the one archive you created previously, any screenshots or other media you like, add a readme, edit the requirements list for the popup, your credits and permissions section (although most of it you already entered on the first page), and add whatever else there is available to your mod page and tabs. When you're done, don't forget to actually "publish" your mod, or it will not show up in any lists and can't be accessed by anybody else than you. edit: Ah, yes. I knew it was there somewhere. Seems the Wiki link disappeared from the forums side, so I had to search for it a little first, but here you go:http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/How_to_upload_modsBetter than I could ever describe it, without actually uploading a mod in the process. I couldn't even get past the first page for example, didn't want to actually create a mod entry just to find out 'how' it's done now. The upload process was changed massively recently and I no longer know what's behind the first page now. DrakeTheDragon
Ah, yes, so-called 'loose files'. That's the way I learned to do it by. Well, you must already have them at the correct location inside the data folder, or your mod won't work to begin with.So all you have to do now is create a new folder to package only your mod's files into, which does mirror the games' folder structure exactly. YourMod.esp textures/SomeCatagory/YourMod/YourTexture1.dds textures/SomeCatagory/YourMod/YourTexture2.dds textures/SomeOtherCatagory/YourMod/YourTexture3.dds meshes/SomeCatagory/YourMod/YourMesh1.nif meshes/SomeCatagory/YourMod/YourMesh2.nif meshes/SomeOtherCatagory/YourMod/YourMesh3.nif Like if you drag&drop this folder's contents into your data folder, your mod will work totally fine. Then you ZIP or RAR or whatever the contents of this folder up into one archive, say "YourMod.7z".I suggest using the free 7-Zip, as it's fast, reliable, and has the best compression I know. + No Shareware nag screens reminding you to register! There also was a list of supported archive formats and suggested archivers around here somewhere... but like the Wiki last time I just can't find it right now. But like I said, as it's Skyrim we're talking of here and you already published your mod on the Steam Workshop, you must also have it in an ESP+BSA combination, which will also suffice for being packaged into an archive and uploaded to the Nexus already. Which way you prefer is up to you. This host will support both.
8MasterDan
Oh boy..there's a lot of data I have to translate into noob language but I really appreciate your help here. Hmm, Okay, so, I will download 7zip first and try to put all my mod data into 1 folder. I'll post here if I get anywhere with this, thank you so much for your advice, I'll try best I can to follow the instructions...+++REP to you  I'm gonna look at it tomorrow now, thanks again for your support here. I really appreciate it, you are too kind. Edited June 20, 2013 by 8MasterDan
DrakeTheDragon
Ha! I knew there was more of it around some places:http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/How_to_create_archivesThere's even more details than what I was giving in my last post, and it should also help you navigate those archivers and create your own archives, especially because all the options are easily overwhelming, if not explained individually. That should do for now though. If there's anything else unclear, don't hesitate to ask. There's a lot of knowledgable people around here on a regular basis, who won't hesitate to answer.I for one am regularly checking back to topics I took part in, until all trouble was solved to the OP's satisfaction... just not all day. Edited June 20, 2013 by DrakeTheDragon
