FO4RP
How can I copy a worldspace into the main worldspace of skyrim so that there's no load transition just like in the opencities mod? I want to create a modified version of whiterun which runs with the quest I'm making... Thanks guys
aoh125
Only guessing here as ive never tried to do this myself but could it be as simple as opening whiterun selecting all of it or sections and copy pasteing into the cells then removing the load door with one that opens? I can only duplicate cells in CK.
agerweb
I am not really sure how the author of Open Cities did it (you could try and ask him if he is still around); but I can't imagine there are any easy cut and paste options. The city interior in Tamriel contains the lod object versions of some of the contents of Whiterun and these would need to be replaced with the real versions of the objects with the find an replace option in the CK. Everything else is manual placement as far as I can see, then relink all the interiors. Quite a big job. There may be a possibility of using the Copy with override option in TesVEdit, but you would have to delete the existing lod interior of the city. Don't know enough about that option to advise you on its use, I used it once a long time ago but I was not too concerned about the accuracy of where the section of the worldspace was copied to. Here you would need to be very precise.
maxarturo
I also haven't looked at it or had i ever shown any interest in this (opencities mod), but common logic points towards: Whiterun sit in an 'Empty' Tamriel worldspace which is the exact same worldspace use by Tamriel itself, with the difference that Tamriel's worldspace is populated / cluttered, so you just need to remove Whiterun from where it's sitting and link it to the 'Real Tamriel' worldspace. * I don't know if i explained it correctly or if i'm making any sense to anyone else... As for 'Copying', you can also take a look at a mod called "Molag Bal's Inferno": https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69811 If my memory doesn't deceive me, since there it's been ages since i played it, it does something like this with 'Whiterun' worldspace. FO4RP
Hi guys, thanks for all the help! I contacted the author of Open Cities and hopefully he'll tell me how to. I understood what you said maxarturo, do you perhaps have any idea of how to link the real tamriel into the empty space of whiterun? I would guess TesVEdit would be the way to do it, but I have no experience in it... As for this override option I found a video showing how to duplicate a cell but I found it very coonfusing and not sure if all in the tutorial should be done in my case... I guess I'll have to try it anyways.
aoh125
Only guessing here as ive never tried to do this myself but could it be as simple as opening whiterun selecting all of it or sections and copy pasteing into the cells then removing the load door with one that opens? Was thinking a little more deeply into it and my intial thought would likely break quest references and stuff but i just meant. Hold control and drag around sections of the whiterun world space and then hit "ctrl + C". Then go to tamriel world space where white run should be and "ctrl + V" to paste in the sections you copied. rinse and repeat as needed but again, thinking more into it im pretty sure youd end up breaking some things in doing so. I don't mind breaking any quests or anything whiterun related, I want to make a clean slate of it, but with all the buildings and people and stuff. Thanks for the tip. How do I select a section of the worldspace? As far as I know, I can only select the things inside it, I never tried copying the whole section. agerweb
In the CK you can only copy the objects and paste them somewhere else. If I was doing this I would select everything in Whiterun and copy it to an empty interior cell first, so you can check you have everything.
