Xadhom
i have a weird problem. often when i start the game and i first load my save game i get CTD.most reliable choice of game to load is the autosaves after i entered a new area, but once i managed to load a game, i can proceed with loading last save without any problem. whats the most likely cause of problems? I'm myself considering some high detail textures i installed for rocks among some others.well... i have 100 mods that can contest for causing the issue too, but since its only on first start up i'm not all that bothered with it, just somewhat annoying. chikawowwow
Try testing a hard save an autosave in the same place, interiors would be better, (for the record I definitely recommend not using auto/quick saves), if you can load the auto but not the hard save it won't be a texture problem at least not a typical one. I've found issues like this to be because of missing .esp master files (a mod that adds a .esp, not .esm, as a master) but I couldn't guarantee that is your problem. My next guess would be a corrupted save file, probably due to auto/quick saving. This one is a bit of a stab in the dark but- potentially you cannot load the hard save due to a problem script running, loading the autosave first and then the hard save potentially resolves the problem. There is a method using SKSE and the command console to dump all scripts so it would be worth a try, just back up your saves in case something worse happens. I have no experience with this last note so I could be completely wrong as far as the scripts resetting goes.
prod80
Most likely cause is your VRAM... I have just recently tested VRAM and loadscreen hanging in an infinite loop..Try monitoring your VRAM using GPU-Z or the Beta version (if you have ENB) or normal version (if you don't have ENB) of MSI Afterburner..If you're constantly maxed out you have too many textures going on.. To give you a guideline; 1GB of VRAM will let you use a full overhaul of 1K textures (everything that is)... Official HD DLC and the likes.between 1 and 1.5GB VRAM you can mix in a few 2K textures, between 1.5 and 2GB you can use all out 2K textures and closer to 2GB mix a few 4K ones.Above 2GB (2 to 4) you can start to use 4K textures and even higher, but I have managed to get my 4GB card into infinite loadscreen as well, when the 4GB limit was breached. Xadhom
i did a log, and looking at dedicated memory usage, it was always atleast at 1.5gb, many times going up to 2gb which is what my card can manage. considering textures, most i installed are 4k but they aint all that many, however, i think the rock ones was 8k ... dammit, i dont want to uninstall them cause they are the first textures for rock that i feel im actually looking at a rock face, not just some grey blur. also, they are removed from nexus for some reason, which makes me unable to get 4k or less... :( Edited June 21, 2013 by Xadhom
