Mod Request - WAAAAAY less ship spawns

Can someone PLEASE make a mod so that the ship spawns are significantly decreased? I want it to be more realistic, and back then you would RARELY encounter other ships when you're out on the open water. I want to see another ship maybe once every 10 minutes. I don't know how the script works but if someone could make this a thing, it would be greatly appreciated. And also, if possible, please add a way to change the value of ships spawns through a menu of sorts. That way we don't have to uninstall the mod if we want to go back, and if someone wants a ship encounter to be even rarer, they can bump it up to one ship every 60 minutes or so.
