problem with texture mod

I'm just playing around with this tutorial:

But when I finnish, this is the result I get. What am I doing wrong?

Wow...I've never seen that happen before :S

 

All the advice I gan give is, make sure the file you edited and added to the texture folder has the same filepath of the original file. Let's use my mailbox mod as an example: The original was in Data-Textures-Clutter-Mailbox so you need to create all those folders within eachother to make it work.

 

Never seen it go purple though :S

 

EDIT: The picture you uploaded in your edit is most likely in the wrong filepath, follow my advice above and it'll most likely work.
