deadoon
A collection(modpack) author should not have the implicit authority to veto that deletion of a mod, or even a version of a mod. A mod author having to petition for deletion of any content is absurd. Using the curseforge example, a mod author can remove a mod from availability and in doing so will remove that mod from all packs that had it previously. Yes, this can and has broken modpacks before, but the author should have as much control as possible over their own work's availability to be distributed as viable. If they don't want some version up for any reason, they shouldn't be forced to keep it up. If your system can't handle missing files, fix that first. What if a mod uses resources that were obtained elsewhere and that third party later revokes permission to use them? They cannot be removed by the mod maker, as the mod maker isn't allowed to remove those older versions under these new rules apparently. Only the admins can intervene and remove it.
