suntiger745
Ok I did a search, and didn't find this paticular subject, so I guess this is ok. For a character focusing on fighting, or stealth, it seems to me the importance of being good with a bow and arrow is of significant importance. Killing the opponents before they reach you makes things a lot easier.I cleaned out a daedric ruin close to Suran with a level 5 character thanks to good stats in marksman and speed. That included NPC's, Dremora, a Dremora lord and a Golden Saint. Considering how powerful enemies they are it seems wierd I could kill them with a few silverbolts, but it reinforce the importnace of how important the marksman skill can be. Cliffracers doesn't become much more than a minor nuisance, even when traveling in the ashland wastes where there are plenty of them. Admittedly, I haven't tried cranking up the difficulty setting yet (didn't know it existed until a week ago), but the same goes there, albeit on a more minor level. It will still be easier, even if the oponents are more numerous and harder to kill. Btw, it's hard to not break the rules here... You're not supposed to start a topic which already have been talked about. However, if you use the search function and find a topic that is almost, but not quite, alike what you want to say, you risk violating the rule of thread hijacking. Not to mention that if you don't pay attention, you might violate the rule of thread necromancy when you use the search function...
VaanicOne
I do believe a topic concerning the worth of marksmanship has in fact been started, a couple of days ago.
suntiger745
It has? Oh *censored*. The ones I found when doing a search on 'marksman' was listed under the 'Characters' sub forum mostly. And there are two threads discussing bows, crossbows and various ammo for them. However, since that isn't quite what I wanted to discuss, I started this, to aviod doing some thread hijacking. VaanicOne
i still think there was one where a guy was telling us all how marksmanship was overlooked heavily, he gave us all its advantages..... EDIT: but im not bothered, having people support one of my fav. skills is a good thing to me, boast away. The one thing that is not so good i find about the skill however is at the start of the game, killing NPC's is a nuisance until you find a decent bow and decent arrows, i ended up having to get Auriels bow from GG. Malchik
Btw, it's hard to not break the rules here... You can't put in every possible word it might be under and if faced with several hundred threads it's a bit daunting. But you say you tried and we'll believe you. If you have something new and relevant to a topic it is not considered necromancy to add to an old thread. BUT both conditions must be fulfilled. Hijacking will only occur if you start asking questions on a different topic in someone else's thread. Going off topic is a grey area. Often moderators let it go unless it gets too far from the supposed thread title. Probably a question every poster should ask is WHY do I want to post this? If you want to ask a question, that is clear. If you want advice or to start a discussion, no problem. Sometimes people start debates simply to show how clever they (think they) are. Such attempts are usually locked. Your post is eminently sensible but I have two points. What do you expect to get as responses? No debate is possible unless there is something to disagree with or a remark is controversial. I can't see anything in your post that is either. You are not asking for advice. Perhaps you can use the edit button to make it clear what kind of replies you would like. Secondly, if it is just your view and you are not after replies, it would have been better to add it in the thread Vaan refers to. I won't lock it if you make clearer what you want from other forum members. Use the EDIT button on the first post. BTW IMO it's worth setting the level at 100 from the start and never lowering it. Otherwise it is way too easy. I have just completed the last full game I shall play of MW. The werewolves are a problem but it can be done!
