cjam93
Ok i tried downloading that file but it still was crashing after the title screen. I went to get that plugins.txt, but I cant find it. If I do C:\Users I end up having 3 options Cam (my name), DefaultAppPool, or Public. There is not a appdata/local/fallout3 under any of them. I even tried just searching Plugins.txt in windows search, but I still came up with nothing. and yea that would have been a lot of stuff to write out. I didnt want to post on the forums for help because I figured it would be a lot of information someone would need to type, that was why I tried to just google it first. Thanks for taking the time to help me. Edited June 25, 2013 by cjam93
cjam93
Ok it just started working!!!! So like I said I downloaded that intel file that you told me to from your signature. In there I saw that it had the FALLOUT config file that the G4WL disabler needed but could not find. Anyways I thought that I could possibly drag that into mydocuments/mygames/ fallout3 and then try the disabler. So this time it saw the file and let me disable G4WL and the game is now running. Thanks for all the help I appreciate it!!
Purr4me
ok, good, to make you learn and to help you sort it out is what I am here for. Now, as for the OS, windows 8. uhg ! I know is a bear. tiles and all. But ,you can do things to get more control over other things, like the missing folders. See, I know what you have and why you can't see things or find things. the security on that system is Ultra tight, to prevent you , the owner and operator from messing it up. Not like a linux machine AT all. What I can do ais try to describe in detail here for you , how to get access to features as a gamer you need to have access to. Mainly the temp folders, the falout3 custom temp folder (Plugin.txt) access. and the view Plugins.fo3viewsettings file.on the desktop, if you click it/ right click it, select personalize, then at the top, you should see (change desktop icons) click that, enable users and My computer icons. now you will have access to one method quickly to the system. once you open up "My computer", at the top, you see the word "Organize" mouse over that, it will drop down, select lay out and check menu. Now, at the top, you have more access to more windows features. Click "tools, folders options, then view tabs. In here, you can figure out what you need to see, check the appropriator things. once you get failure with these things, you be more apt to know what to do. Now, if you set things so you can view every thing, a whole lot of things will now be livable to you. Just because I teach you this, be earful not to go hog wild with stuff, you can damage your system doing things your not sure of. ask, always ask some one who knows if in doubt. windows 8 changes are permanent and take 4 steps to undo, not 2. it's really LOL.......... bad. Now. on the desktop , you will see a brand new user made folder, when you open that up, you will see a back lite app folder greyed out, though it's yellow, we call it greyed out. in there is all the hidden stuff you were looking for. this is where it all happens, the temp folder in here is loaded to the hills with junk !, all of that needs to be erased, in the temp folder only !. you will see fallout3's work folder, that's where the plugin .txt file is stored, your games load order. How ever, due to other things, it's not the only one active. there are other things active on that part of the game. but, for a newbie? this is enough information. I hope you can Enjoy the games now.Kitty.
