Using nifskope to animate a portcullis

Anybody animate a mesh directly in nifskope I'm doing my first attempt from scratch. I'm close and everything looks right in nifskope but I can't get it to work in game

Anybody have experience animating on nifskope, I got the animation set in the nif and everything looks ok but it doesn't work in creation kit or in game. So I'm missing something. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm doing a basic slide up animation for a portcullis

Without seeing your mesh its next to impossible to help you troubleshoot it. Also, what "doesn't work" about it in game. Existing portcullis in game need an activator to trigger the opening/closing animation of the mesh.

 

But here's my tip: Compare your mesh to a vanilla mesh such as meshes/dungeons/imperial/portculliskit/portimpgate01.nif line by line and option by option. It could be simply an incorrect link or missing value.
