zswartfiguer28 Posted July 8, 2021 Share Posted July 8, 2021 Back in 2006-2009 many forums which talked about rpgs or which were specifically for Oblivion has an obsession with the "Fiji Mermaid." It was all started with a troll post sending people on wild goose chases with fake screenshots and requirements on how to obtain it. Eventually people started to catch on and the joke was continued daily for years until it just dried up. I feel like creating an actual fiji mermaid item in which it is ridiculous to actually obtain would be quite fun, end game content, hardcore, etc. There's a plethora of information on the gamefaqs boards from back then on what people came up with. Here are some examples: " thought it was the Fishblade of Anvil? Which appears after dropping 100 Slaughterfish scales into the Anvil fountain." "She travels depending on the months of the year, you can usually beat the location out of Lifts-Her-Tail" ".The Fiji Mermaid spawned from the "Ghost Sea Monster"" " i found the mermaid by diving underwater in the sea of ghosts and found it. it leads you to a temple where it dives into the water really deep so you run out of air before you can catch it" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
