bleynarus
Hello there. I am a little confused as to why DAO seems to want to install in C:/Games/Dragon Age/ by default. I installed the game on the same disk last year and it installed to C:/Program Files/Dragon Age/ yet I am now attempting to reinstall it and it keeps trying to install to this odd location. If I try 'express installation' I can change the location it installs in but I must create a Dragon Age folder in Program Files to install the game in. This has caused a problem where the game will hardly ever start. I've tried the .exe and the shortcut created in installation that loads the thingy with the picture of the mage woman. I try to launch the game and in task manager I can see that the process has began, but it stops soon. The only way I can get it to launch is if I try to run the .exe in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2, but even then it only works some of the time. It feels as if it decides to start randomly as there is no apparent reason for it not to launch. I believe this problem is linked to the fact that I change the game's installation to C:/Program Files/Dragon Age/ when it wants to install to C:/Games/Dragon Age/. If I don't change it, I can't access the bin_ship folder which I need for daupdater.exe and the original .exe so that I can launch it from there. I might not be making any sense, but if anybody knows why it wants to install to this strange directory I would be grateful for any information.I am running Windows 7 32 bit.
