SSE Possible to add single slider to native limited race menu?

I'm looking for a way to bring up the player view that comes up when showing the limited race menu, but only with a few custom sliders that I would add. The sliders would simply invoke a custom script that calls EquipItem as I move them. Is this type of mode even possible, and if so, any suggestions for how to go about it?

 

Alternatively, I would settle for just adding a few sliders to the BODY section of the limited race menu and keeping the other sections and sliders.

 

I do believe I can probably do something similar to this using the plugin functionality that comes with the RaceMenu mod, but that mod is a bit heavy-weight for my needs, so interested to know if something as simple as adding sliders to the stock limited race menu is possible or not before I go that route.
