I would love to see a mod for the zion area in Honest hearts

sure you can go back to zion after the mod is done, but whats the point, there is hardly anyone there. SO I would like to see a mod that adds more creatures, and maybe brings back some of the "bad" natives . Something to do when you go back there,

I like expanding the DLC's, they'r great mods and they deserve a longer life. I started on the OWB DLC before I had to take a break from modding (and hope to get back to it soon-ish). If you can come up with some compelling story lines or engrossing plots I'd be willing to work on putting it together.

link here;

"He tried to intervene directly when a Vault 22 expedition, escaping their mutagen infected home, established a camp in Zion and killed most of the refugees. Clark, unable to save the captives from their fates at the hand of the Vault 22 dwellers, eventually drove off the intruders using traps, explosives, and his own rifle from the War, along with a recovered set of Desert Ranger combat armor. A holotape that the player can find in a duffle bag at the Vault 22 Dwellers' Guard Camp, entitled BEWARE - A VENGEFUL SPIRIT STALKS THESE CANYONS, indicates that by the time the Vault 22 refugees finally fled Zion, there were only 34 of them left alive out of an original 118. The holotape also claims that they had to defend themselves from the local tribals, but it mentions nothing of cannibalism or starting the assault on the tribals. Most of the rest had been killed by Clark, to whom the Vault 22 refugees had begun to attribute supernatural powers."

maybe time for them to make a re-appearance. If they'v done well their numbers could be considerably more than 32, and with teh tribals gone they may no longer fear the "vengeful spirit".

Honest hearts was really quick, I remember downloading it about 6:30 one night after work,,, and I was done by 11pm

and I didnt even cheat

Vault 22 would be cool, more creatures, just generally more STUFF in there, its a beautfiul DLC, and made up for the horrible environment of Dead money

I understand where your coming from, but I really don't want to just make more of the same (like just some spawn points) and if I did, you'd get bored of it pretty quick (I bet). But lets make some actual stories and new ideas. Or at least use what's there in new and novel ways. If we can do that and get some interesting plot lines going (or just some new spin) I'll devote some time to this mod.

I was killing time at work, reading up on vault 22 and the expedition from the Mojave to Zion. In Clark's diary he wrote about;

"May 7th
Clouds of those stinging flies near fallen tree I call "The Napper". Little flashes in the cloud. Something dragonfly-sized that zaps them midair then scoops them up. Something new."
I was thinking In could include my fireflies mod, I think they would "fit" in Zion, and make for some great visuals. We could make smaller ones like Clark saw.
I don't have time at the moment to detail the vault 22 expedition, but it does look like it will be useful for us. I'll go into more detail later, but I'm picturing techno tribals. Armored Vault suits, jury rigged high tech weapons (multi plas etc), reinforced vault security armor etc. Think vault technology tribalized. They are probably also infected with teh fungus so I bet we can do something with that. But more details later.
You guys see what angles and stories that you can come up with and we'll see if this is worth doing.

Or maybe not. Remember that Sylvie Clark, Randall Clark's second wife and Vault 22 survivor, wasn't infected. So one could make these Vault 22 descendants not infected at all. There were bound to be other non-infected Vault 22 survivors that ended up killing the rest of the infected. Maybe they intermarried/interbred with smaller tribes or small groups of survivors to grow.

Ahh, sort of like Arroyo and the descendants of the Vault Dweller. But I like your idea so far.

Not to be pedantic, but that's where the "probably also infected" comes in, ie. If we can use the spores aspect as a story line. For example (just brainstorming);

A important child (chiefs daughter) of the 22 tribe is infected and will die without the couriers help.

They'v degenerated into worshiping the infection as a sort of blessed touch of the twisted earth goddess religion they worship.

Perhaps outsiders are infected as a sacrifice to their twisted earth goddess.

They'v trained or use the spore carriers as sort of a zombie defense

They tend to have developed a resistance, but older tribal members get infected to various stages as their immune system gets weaker, so you have a nursing home of horrors

They are infected and the player can save them (while also achieving concessions from them, maybe more positive behavior etc).

I'm sure there are many more.

I never played any of the earlier fallout games, started with fallout 3, but I'll check up on Arroyo for additional ideas. In the meantime I can add some stuff to the armored vault suits that they would have gotten from caravans (say a duster) or tribals (fetishes, feathers etc). I think it could be a really good theme.

But we need more ideas. You seem to have a good grasp of FO lore Dangman4ever, shoot me some concepts for Zion. Even little things like some new caravans coming through would be cool. But now that there is a vacuum in Zion, something (or somethings) will come to fill that ecological niche.
