FMod
My 3 year old Intel SSD has capacitors that do that.. so that quote is wrong. OCZ drives are not less reliable, there were just so many out there, that you are going to hear more people complain..OCZ drives with Sandforce controllers are less reliable. The problems are well documented and well known to OCZ users. Failures upon wakeup, firmware flashing issues, performance degradation. These problems come on top of hardware failures. They are problems with Sandforce firmware, and Sandforce doesn't give anyone, not even their former dominant customer OCZ, the access required to fix them. This is why OCZ doesn't even use Sandforce anymore, they got tired of paying for the RMAs. Today Sandforces have been relegated to low-end nonames and dead brands without own R&D departments like Kingston. And a couple Intels, because Intel today just doesn't care, their brand is strong enough to absorb it while raking in 75% profit margins. Vertex 4, while not using Sandforce, is known for slightly more issues than drives from more conservative makers, but way fewer than anything Sandforce based.
