Automatic Laser rifle

i'm trying to make the bethesda made laser weapons fully automatic for a mod im working on

 

basically, the laser pistol is equivalent to the SMG and the laser rifle is equivalent to the chinese assault rifle

 

i'm able to get the laser pistol to fire fully automatically quite easily

 

the problem is the laser rifle. it has one of 3 problems:

 

1) if i set the animation type to TwoHandAutomatic and the firing animation to AttackLoop, i get a nice smooth rate of fire and a correct looking firing animation, but i cannot get the correct reload animation to play

 

 

2) if i set the animation type to TwoHandRifleEnergy and the firing animation to AttackLoop, i get a nice smooth rate of fire and a correct looking reload animation, but the firing animation is 1 handed

 

2) if i set the animation type to TwoHandRifleEnergy and the firing animation to Attack4, i get a a correct looking reload animation and firing animation, but the rate of fire is highly erratic (sometimes the gun doesnt let a round off at all, and this is much worse in iron sights mode). i have tried to change the speed of the animation, but it is never reliable enough

 

 

please, please help me! :(

why don't you just take the laser rifle, flag it as automatic then change the rate of fire to a number between 8 and 12?

Because the animation isn't automatic so it wouldn't fire correctly.

 

I am having the same problem with the laser rifle being fired 1handed.

 

I've been through the entire library of attack animations;

They're all borked.

i figured it out!!!! :):):):)

 

 

the solution was not so obvious

 

i set the animation type to TwoHandRifleEnergy and the firing animation to Attack4, and the Projectile to BeamLaserAutoProjectile

 

for some reason if the projectile is BeamLaserProjectile instead of BeamLaserAutoProjectile it causes a wonky timing issue

 

now it works like a charm for any rate of fire :)

 

 

the only issue is that the rate of fire is about 1/2 of what you type into geck

 

 

but thats relatively minor

Nice research; I admit, I thought to look in the projectile table, but figured it would be a waste of time.

 

Have a Kudo; this was bothering me too.

P.S. -

ROF 8 = 3 round burst,

16 is 6 round burst,

24 is 10 round burst,

36 is 15, ect.

 

it should be '2.4 ROF' per bullet fired in vats;

For everything I've tested on anyway (assault rifle, chin ass rifle, minigun, ect).

there is an actual way to make the weapon "automatic"

 

i forgot where, but there is a tick mark of it i found it out when i was working on my realism mod.

 

I tried using the automatic function in there and all that i need to do was copy the animation that were

 

used on chinese assault rifle/assault rifle and slap it into the type of weapon i want. then i just select

 

the rate of fire, BAM!, there u go. i need to figure it out again though as whereabout of this little

 

option, i believe it is not as obvious as "WEAP10mmpistol>general>automatic" but i remembered

 

i saw it... I'll update as soon as i found it out :)

Still doesn't work for me!

 

I have opened the standard laser rifle to edit,

renamed it,

checked automatic flag,

set fire rate to 8 and

changed projectile to BeamLaserAutoProjectile.

 

You never mentioned anything else that isn't the same in the standard laser rifle!

 

Or did you change anything else?

 

 

PROBLEMS:

 

Rate of fire seems to be very slow (1 per sce)

I VATS you see the recoil, but no beam, and no effect (for most shots, very few work)
