SaintJames420
what you could do is make a type of holster for one handed gun's and have two to three different sizes. large i.e .44 to .454 tactical .45/5.7/any gun that falls within a "metal gear esqe catagory" and small for .32 and other's like laser's and what not. you could have a one size fit's all for assault rifle's and either have the modder custom do a scabberd or edit an existing one. and I dig the knive's on your hip. Maybe wazaki's on the small of your back? Or maybe we could bypass all of it and do a tactical webbing mod?
veliv
Easily done. Check out how the back packs for some weapons are done and then make the new meshes which are attached to the holster bone.
Subasean
Would placement be so hard? The game already keeps track of where to place a weapon based on your armor, so you don't see ure 10mm pistol sticking out of your power armor leg. If someone could find what controls that and adapt the coordinates to a static object I'm sure it can be done. anyway, just my $0.
Dasistgutja
Or maybe we could bypass all of it and do a tactical webbing mod? I was thinking along those lines, maybe have a sort of improvised webbing/holster thing as well. For instance you could bring in medical braces/ leather belts to it. You wouldn't have to make it as you can have a gun before even seeing a belt. Also there'd have to be a workaround for life in the vault, as you wouldn't exactly have pre-war security uniforms with built in surgical tubing holsters. But that'd be easy to forgive, as it's only a short part of the game. All in all though, I can see how this mod would take some dedication, I just hope someone picks it up, as it'd definately take off. :)
