ressem
So I just installed Skyrim again. We are talking 100% fresh and clean installation. But when I tried to use some mods I get conflicts between pretty much any mod and dawnguard.esm and update.esm. Anyone know the reason behind this? ripple
I don't know how we are suppose to know when you have not bothered to list the mods you are using. How do you know there is 'conflict'? What problems are you experiencing? At least post your BOSS log (with the messages) and enclose it in a spoiler tag.
xiamthewalrusx
Are you talking about conflicts in TESVEDIT?
prod80
lol... "I have the main game files and mods for those files - but my mods conflict because they try and change the main game!!!1"?
ressem
My bad. I've used Nexus mod manager and TESVEDIT to install and monitor. The problem the conflicts are causing is CTD after maybe a minute in the game (no apparent reason). I'll upload two images. 1 showing dawnguard.esm and update.esm conflicting (untitled). Seeing how they are main files my guess is that they shouldn't. The other is the list of the mods I actually want to use (untitled2).
prod80
@ressem Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, Heartfire.esm, Dragonborn.esm all conflict - that is absolutely fine. Just keep them in the right load order (DLC release date) Your CTD's are probably related to other things... eg. Load order, Mods, INI tweaks, System resources, etc. I'd suggest you post here, in Spoiler tags (not to create endless text): Output of BOSS (search on Nexus), modlist: recognized/unrecognized with all the messagesSkyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini located in My Documents\My Games\SkyrimMore information on the CTD: Interior, Exterior, around a certain area, anything else that might help (did it start happening after installing mod XYZ). You should know best what you have installed and when, and when problems startedMore information on your save game: New save, old save, have you uninstalled mods on your current save, etc
ressem
@prod80 Alright. Thanks. I'll go through all the mods the old fashioned way then. Will keep the posting in mind for the future. Thanks again.
