Howabominable Posted June 28, 2013 Share Posted June 28, 2013 I am brand new to modding. I did some very simple stuff with the TES editor for Oblivion, but now I'm in Skyrim and things have changed. I created a mod that gives names to some of the generically-named NPCs around Skyrim. I want to do more with this but I am not sure how, so I wondered if people could answer my (hopefully basic) questions. 1) Many of the Actors in the creation kit are not rename-able. For instance, if I want to rename that alchemist's dead body in northern Falkreath, the creation kit won't let me. Why is this? Is this changeable without messing up something else in the game? 2) Some of the NPCs are labeled as "Templates." Do these ever appear in the game? What would happen if I renamed them? 3) Some of the NPCs I have named were used two be Bethesda, i.e. copied and pasted in the dungeon, which means I might have 3 Bobs running around even though I only modified one NPC. How can I go about fixing this? I've searched around for the answers to these questions but haven't been able to find anything. Like I said, I am very new to this, and want to make this mod as uncomplicated as possible.
