pkleiss
Yeah. I don't think it's a limitation of the game engine so much as it was a design (or designed) limitation. Like I said before, there are other games using the same Game-bryo engine that support vehicles. For example, there is no fire while sitting animation in Fallout which precludes the ability of sitting in a car and firing upon enemies. But there could have been. 7thsealord
Considering the limitations of development time / expense versus releasing the product and actually making money with it, people should perhaps wonder what would have been left out to make room for vehicles. Yes, I know. FO3 as sold is FULL of bugs, dead ends, unused content, missed oppurtunities and so forth - one major reason why the modder community has been so active (and so amazing) here. But it should be something to consider.
thomriis
Wondering wether fallout 4 will be on ps3 or ps4. the ps4 should be able to handle a lot more Right?? cause it would certainly be another console porting. modders have actually made this game pretty stable, I would be more surprised if beth made a game without bugs. Purr4me
fallout 3 has a graphics load limit. Brazil alpha when approaching the building in it near the mining company, your up on top of the mountain, you look just below in the alpha version and can get stuck, even in mid air, tgm mode, tcl mode both running, ....just stuck...that is if you have walked the entire distance to that point, the ram status shows a full game load. this was 1 reason the game file development chose the newer engine from a graphics perspective.Nv's engine has external overlays and extended programing to add on more data. additionally 5 more possible graphics settings...or more, depending on the machine involved. this is the very upper limit that does not cause a CTD effect, it's just that, the last point of movement in game. you can twist, turn , look up and down, but can no longer move anywhere in game. only method found to remove this was to reload the entire game from that point. The alpha version is incomplete, but enough to show the intent was made. the limits of the other engines are just now becoming known, so.......fallout 4 had better be reborn geometry and GameBryo if they even go that way. other wise, RPG's will die soon. success is a thing from a corporate view, if there is enough money placed into engineering of the new engines capability, the other games may stand a chance for upgrades and is only a hopeful thought.we shall see.kitty
