Disable auto-sheathe mod?

I absolutely love The Witcher 1 but there's one thing that always drives me mad when I play it.

 

And that is Geralt's tentency to automatically put away his sword/torch constantly. He'll do it after every fight and also after looting something. This is especially annoying in dark caves when you don't have a Cat potion.

 

I haven't found a mod anywhere that fixes this. I don't know if that even is something that can be fixed so I thought I'd ask here. Maybe it's a simple thing that someone could create?
