Custom Bladepistols - NIF Import Problems!

Hi

Im trying to make a Bladepistol model for Fallout 3 and having some issues with the exporting from 3dsmax ...

Im about 50% finished with my Bladepistol, got the basic model done etc.

and now i want to "preview" it in Fallout but my Problem is:

- If i copy the NiStrips blocks from my exported model and paste it over an existing Fallout model it wont get replaced. Instead there isnt anything...

does someone have the same problem as I do?

Here a sneakpreview at my Bladepistol model (Its still in an early phase, so dont judge it too hard)

sometimes the scale of objects gets messed up, if there is a nitristripsdata after youve pasted the object, right click it, select transform and try setting the scale to 10, the new object may just be really tiny. did you export as an .obj or directly to a nif?

edit: also if you havent, take a look here

I did export it directly as a NIF.

But for the sizing problem, I imported a pistol into 3dsmax from Fallout 3 as size reference before i made a Plane with the picture of the weapon I want to create.

So i think i got the right size of the Weapon :/

Il look into the guide and hope the problem is soon gone :P

EDIT: Damn this guide is for blender ! Any guide for 3dsmax??

im sure there was a forum topic about exporting stuff from 3ds on these forums somewhere, but im having trouble finding them atm.

im not sure how dated this one for oblivion would be but it makes mention of setting the alpha in 3ds to pure white or else the item might not show up at all

if i find anything else ill post back

Make sure that you copy and paste the NiTriStrip/ShapeData entry within the NiTriStrip/Shape branch and not the entire NiTriStrips/Shapes branch. While it's possible to do the latter with the "Copy/paste branch" functions, you'll have to rig the block from scratch which is difficult to do correctly.
