Mod Request: Improved and Passive Dogmeat Search

This is a mod request for an improved dogmeat searching feature. I have looked through the existing mods, and none of them do the following:

 

1. Make dogmeat's search feature passive, so the player doesn't have to command dogmeat to search for each individual item. If possible, give him a large but limited radius that he is allowed to wander from the player.

 

2. Please fix what is perhaps the most annoying feature about dogmeat's search ability, the fact that he remains stock still as long as you're in sneak mode! The sneaky types have to sacrifice stealth in order to use his search ability, or wait until the area is cleared of enemies.

 

3. Include a dog whistle with this mod.

 

4. (Optional) If possible, allow for greater specificity in dogmeat's searching. Ammo is no problem because it weighs nothing and can be sold or pressed into the caliber you need in the Pitt's ammo press, but I never use dogmeat's weapon-finding feature because I know I'll get endless numbers of switchblades and nail boards. If I could get him to search for only the weapons I use (e.g., for parts), then I would actually use this feature. Same thing with the chems: All I want are stimpaks, rad-x, and radaway, not bloodpacks and dirty water. Allowing for greater specificity would make a lot of people happy. Also, if you could make him search for caps, too, that would be grand. Obviously this feature would only be tolerable if dogmeat's search ability were passive, otherwise this level of specificity would be annoying--"What, no more caps, Dogmeat? Search for stimpaks. What, no stimpaks?" It would be wonderful if you could simply toggle which items he would look for (e.g., all ammo, caps, stimpaks, radaway, rad-x, alien epoxy, and sniper rifles). And it would be wonderful if it were DLC compatible.

 

Sorry if anything I've asked for is unreasonable or impossible. If I knew what was possible, I would be probably be a modder and be able to make what I want myself. :smile: I think a lot of people would use this mod, if it were made.
