Quest: Not of This World (PC Version Fix)
Issue: Freezes / Freezing / Frozen / Locked Up / Locks Up

Note: The issue on this quest is two fold. One is a quad-core proc issue. The other is a seriously borked quest. Together, they appear to be one issue, but they are not.

* This is not a crashing issue. At least it wasn't for me.
* Does not appear to have anything to do with performance or graphics settings, Windows settings, loaded mods, mod order, etc.
* It's seen on both PC and PS3.
* Possibly specific to GOTY edition.
* I recommend you save before your abduction.

1/ Alter the Fallout3.ini (in My Games\Fallout 3) if you haven't already.
bUseThreadedAI=1 <--change from a 0 to 1
iNumHWThreads=2 <--add in this line
* This limits you to two cores and resolves the freezing problem (which is random).

2/ Beam up as usual and go through the cutscene to get to the holding cell.
* You shouldn't be freezing anymore with the INI fix.
* If you've made it the holding cell, but can't move, verify you aren't frozen by hitting ESC. If nothing happens, back up and redo step 2 until it doesnt freeze. When you get a menu, proceed on.

3/ Go into the console "~" and unlock your interface: "enableplayercontrols" (without the quotes)
* Leave the console "~" and you should have control now.

* What happened here was that player control was locked out during the cutscene, but never unlocked because the quest did not advance properly, which is what queued me into the likelihood of a borked quest.

4/ Spawn Somah (console) to continue the script: "player.placeatme xx00096a" (without the quotes)
* "xx" is your DLC load order. Usually Zeta is 05, so "0500096a". But it could be different if you've loaded mods. Check NMM or FOMM for your Load Order.
* Leave the console and Somah should be there.

5/ Talk to her to get the overhead victim script rolling.

* Observe the poor sap. Better him than you.

6/ Talk to her again to get the Alien guards to the door.
* Supposedly you have agreed to a fight, but she never initiated it for me. However, the guards came in anyway and attacked us.
* Try to avoid hitting her or she'll turn aggro. You don't need her anymore after this, so you can do as you will.
* After this, you'll be out in the hall and confronted with an unlockable door. Normally the quest would advance to step 7 automatically, but it's borked up.

7/ Manually advance the quest in the console: "setstage xx000802 30" (without the quotes)
* Again, "xx" is your Zeta load order.
* After leaving the console, the 2nd set of guards will come through the far door. Dispatch them.
* After killing them, if you've managed to avoid hitting Somah, her script will finally have advanced, but it's not necessary (nor is she).

At this point, your quest is back on track.
Hope that helps some folks out.

This was very helpful, thank you! I'm shocked at how broken this particular DLC was. Did anyone else have any of the following addition bugs?

1) (Mild Spoiler) The cowboy did not show up on how own

2) The little girl did not show up on her own

3) *SPOILER* At the fight with the other space ship at the very end of the DLC, the enemy ship blew up at the beginning of the fight, yet was still attacking you and needed to be killed (essentially I mean the blowing up animation fired off way too early)

Also, I should point out that in terms of when you say to use the "placeatme" command to get the actors to show up, it's a much better idea to look up their reference ID's (Fallout Wiki has them listed), and type the following two commands

"prid <Reference ID>" and then "enable".
