Sydite
When I'm playing, the game will often freeze when I'm entering a new cell. It's not a CTD, but the loading screen just doesn't go away. I don't know if it eventually does, but all I know is that it stays on the loading screen for a long time. When I Alt+Tab out, the only choice I have is to click the Start button and restart my computer. Everything else locks up.I have almost all the mods from STEP 2.2.6 installed (except for about half the gameplay mods) and some other mods. I'm using an i5 4670K, GTX 780, 8GB RAM, and Skyrim's installed on my SSD.Here's my mod list:http://pastebin.com/iMGpEpD4
Sydite
I just used Skyrim Performance Monitor while walking from right outside the entrance to Bleak Falls Barrow to Whiterun. I CTD'd when I tried to enter Jorrvaskr (no infinite loading screen that time). Here's the results: http://i.imgur.com/HYlTAoC.png
prod80
Use Lite/Medium res textures, dont touch the High/Ultra res ones. Skyrim is 32bit and runs on DX9 - it has severe limitations. Anyway to confirm the above texture resolutions are to overload the engine simply - uninstall all landscape/town/city/dungeon/flora texture replacers (like Skyrim HD) and if that solves the issue - yippy. It can also be hanging when there is a save point outside of the loadscreen... disable all forms of auto save in the menu. It can also be you use A Quality World Map, this also causes infinite loadscreens for some users. Sometimes in an extremely script heavy modded game, Scripts do not have the proper time to compile... you can try these settings inside of Skyrim.ini (from My Documents\My Games\Skyrim) [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=12 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=12 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=1200.0 bEnableLogging=0 bEnableTrace=0 bLoadDebugInformation=0 iMaxMemoryPageSize=512 iMinMemoryPageSize=128 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=1048576
prod80
Mehhh doesnt let me edit the post... I just see the log from Performance Monitor now... it seems that right at the end the RAM usage jumps to >3 GB ... Skyrim will CTD @ ~3.2GB (varies, bit more, bit less). If you use heavy textures (4K) start using easier ones (2K). If you used ini tweaks (uGridsToLoad=7 or more) go back to 5. uGrids more than 5 causes issues when you heavily texture replace your game... no system can handle that, not due to the system but due to the Skyrim application (using DX9) itself.
