Rennn
Or perhaps the PSU isn't strong enough to supply everything at load? Just a guess.

kingqueenjack
I looked at the Passmark performance thing and started a 30 day trial, I tested it, however I really do not know what it means, so I thought I would post it for the pros :) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/Images/263843/? prod80
Your graphics card seems to be too fast for your CPU+RAM (mainly RAM) combination... You are still using DDR2 PC6400? (800Mhz memory) or do you have some sort of special memory, like ECC, since you run on a Xeon... its a bit of a different ballgame than the general gaming system. Also not sure about your mainboard features... server boards are generally build for stability, not for high performance (of course performance is important but stability is the most important feature of a server - all kinds of error handling going on)
kingqueenjack
Thanks...I don't think I am able to upgrade my processor to an i7 without getting a new motherboard, so I might as well just save up for a new computer,
prod80
You dont need i7 for gaming... so unless you run really heavy multithreaded applications (and need those to be optimal), you can pretty much stick with an i5. Most games will not use (or require) >2 cores, some can use 4, I dont think there's any that can fully utilize 8 logical processors for any significan difference to using 2 cores. Skyrim uses ~15-20% of my 2nd Gen i5...... and I have everything maxed that can be maxed more or less. No game has been able to max it out so far. Your CPU also seems fast enough... Xeons can take a heavy load. I dunno about your RAM speeds or type, that seems to be a bit slow which directly influences overall performance. kingqueenjack
I also have a laptop that is pretty good it has a higher windows experience index than my desktop , could it run Skyrim at a decent framerate with or without an enb? Here are the specs: Intel® Core i7-3612QM CPU @ 2.10GHz 2.10GHz8GB RamWindows 7 64bit Intel® HD Graphics 4000 + An Optical Drive Edited July 8, 2013 by kingqueenjack
kingqueenjack
I tried it on my laptop, pretty good with mods with slight lag. I'm gonna try and wipe my Desktop within the next week to see if it makes a difference.
