Haxloar Posted July 5, 2013 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Hello, i am pretty new to G.E.C.K. and the modding stuff. So ye my problem is i cant set up any traps that work with trip wires (outdoors). I cant even activate/defuse the trip wire with clicking on it (E) - BUT I can defuse and move the trap itself around (like the beam or stuff or the grenades) I know how to set up traps (i got some with pressure plates etc that work fine) - I even just copied a working trap from the TestTraps interiour - that also dont seems to work outdoors. If i build em up somewhere inside or copy paste em in any interiour then they work fine... So what am i doing wrong. Something special that i just dont know? The activator (parent) is the "TrapTripwire01" and the trap itself (child) is anything but for example "TrapSwingingEngine01". The engine is linked to the tripwire. The tripwire is persistent Reference ofc. I tried to link em with the parent tab and with the "-" Reference Batch Action Window, both things did not work. I am a bit frustrated because I just did it like i saw in the Bethesda Trap Tutorial Video - like i said i even used traps that i just copy and paste from other places. THEY JUST DONT WORK =D I got a pressure Plate right next to it that works just fine, but the tripwire just wont work - i can run over it i can jump on it - NOTHING. (outside) Like i said i know how to set up traps. I keep using them everywhere in the interiours. Testing everything 100 times. I just cant figure out what the problem is. The trap is linked to the tripwire (or anything that can activate a trap) and it just wont work. Everything is set up correctly. The absolute weirdest thing is, the traps that are already in the game just work fine. They use the correct script everything is just fine. But they just wont interact with me or trigger. I cant interact with them or defuse them nothing they are just doing NOTHING. I was searching the internet for hours - nothing. jazzisparis Posted July 11, 2013 Share Posted July 11, 2013 Travel to another location, wait three to four days (allowing the cell to reset), then return and see if now you can interact with it. I suspect this happens because the tripwire relies on an OnLoad script block to initialize and arm itself. The OnLoad block functions differently in exterior cells - it only runs after the cell was reset (unlike in interior cells, where it runs every time you enter the cell, as long as you visited another cell in between).
