Purple armor/textures and some objects.

So I have a large selection of all the "core" mods, mainly from the top 100 with a few exceptions. This includes Immersive armors/weapons which seem to be the core offenders of this but there are a few counter exceptions even in random textures. For example, the deer heads littered inside the companions main hall. This made me rule out it was mod specific. So basically, randomly every time i load into an area maybe 50% of the time 1 or more of the immersive armors/weapons textures will load in without the texture and make it purple. I have seen 1-2 of the modded creatures that load in have this issue but not enough to realise compared to the armour issues.

 

Notes:

 

Sometimes they load, sometimes they don't, its random and doesn't really seem to follow a pattern. I could save in an area of 10 bandits with immersive armors and every time I load that save different ones will be purple and some will be textured in.

 

This never happens to the vanilla stuff from what I can tell, only the new/edited armors.

 

It rarely happens to weapons and mainly on the armors.

 

It happens on me as much as it happens on my enemies.

 

Sometimes I think it might be some kind of crazy memory related problem because my skyrim only ever reaches about 1.3gb of ram used when I have a good 4gb of ram and a lot of people complain that skyrim cant use more then 4gb. Im probs wrong but does anyone know how to fix it?

I've got the same issues here, but I've only ever noticed armors from Immersive Armors bug out like this. They appear on an actor (myself included) as this sort of translucent purple, with all the physical contours but none of the color details. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Sometimes it happens for a little while but then goes away eventually (always requiring a zone change from what I can tell). It seems to be irregular and occur no matter what set of mods I am using, as I have used many very different sets of mods since I first started using the Immersive Armors mod. But yeah, I'm not really sure what's causing it, so I guess I'll just bump this for now.

I think you simply has some incompatible meshes.

Try moving Immersive Armors/Weapons in your load order and make sure they are the last Armor/Weapon mods loaded.

 

There is no issue with AI / IW - those mods are fine, it's another mod causing this.

I see this occasionally on terrain as well as actors. It's weird because everything works just fine most of the time, then suddenly big purple patches! Once it was my thief tool in the lockpicking mini-game. Once it was Ulfric's armor and his carpet. Once it was some of the ruins around Falkreath.

Since it's random and not repeatable, I tend to think that Skyrim feels it has run out of memory. I have 16GB of DDR3, with 12GB available. My video card has 3GB of VRAM. The only other thing I have dreamed up is that somehow the loading of the texture from the hard drive doesn't occur fast enough, so the game goes on without it. I have no idea if that is even possible.

I know this thread is old but I encounter this problem too and no fix except uninstalling Immersive Weapons/Armors worked for me.

100% the same problem as the first poster.

 

Here are the things I looked into already:

- Redownloaded, reinstalled, even on 100% clean Skyrim installation

- I have a fast Samsung Evo 850 SSD

- 16GB Ram and 4GB VRAM, VRAM maximum that is used is around 3GB with 2K Skyrim HD Textures and what not so a VRAM problem it can not be, Skyrim is the only game with this problem, unlikely my GPU is broken...

I benchmarked and logged data from the card while playing for long times, thats why I know how much VRAM is uses while playing Skyrim. DDR4 Ram it uses up to 3-4GB btw. My system is running around 5-6GB with system and all.

The GPU runs on around 30% usage...

 

What I might think about is a DDR Ram limit. I read that Skyrim uses a maximum of 3GB DDR Ram. Or 3,5 with Memory Tweak or something (using it). So I might think sometimes Skyrim just doesnt know where to put the stuff anymore because the Engine is on its limit. Could this be? Could I assign more RAM theoretically? Can I extend it with a Memory Tweak or is at 3,5GB really the end for the engine? Yeah, this is just a vague thought. Actually it would wonder me, does anymore people experience this problem? Im running Skyrim with around 50 Mods, Mostly 2K textures (no 4K). Shouldnt more people run into this problems then? But many also use ENB I read. Doesnt ENB have a way to extend the Ram usage or something? ENB Boost? I dont use ENB right now, I dont really like it and would like to go without.

 

Weirdly without Immersive Weapons and Armors I never even run into this problem... So maybe a mod issue after all? I dont know what it should interfere with... My mods are fine concerning LOOT, Nexus, TES5EDIT and what not...

I dont think it can be a load order problem. Immersive Weapons and Armors are the only Weapon/Armor mods I use anyway.

 

Anybody knows a fix or help? Anybody else with this problem or somebody who fixed it? Would be really nice.

Well, beside of my problem being 100% the same as the first poster said, there is a fix, going back to menu and load the save again.

More like a walkaround though. Not a fix... It appears back eventually after some time.

EDIT: Ok, now I made a Ramlog...

I know why it has sometimes purple textures and actually crashes. Thought those crashes are normal...

I hit the ram limit of Skyrim... Seriously... I have only around 50mods installed.

Guess I will try ENB Boost now, seems to be the fix.

 

Can anybody help me with this? I wanna use this ENB Boost Ram extender function or whatever it is but NOTHING else of graphic effects or what not. Just pure Ram extender.

Is this possible? And if yes, how?

 

Btw, does SSME do the same? Does it extend Skyrims 3GB Limit or something? Im not sure if this is the same or similar to ENB Boost, just without ENB. Im not entirely sure what this mod or SKSE plugin does...
