darkranger85
I'm trying to make my own little base in a mod and I tried to load up the mod to test it but it doesnt show up in the data files list. I did a search and found something about putting a custom.ini file in the root folder to override something or other. Could someone explain this in better detail? Thanks! Smosh
Edit FALLOUT.ini found in MyGames/MyDocuments/Fallout3 and change the line bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 to bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 Your mod esp file should be in the Data folder of your main Fallout 3 directory. darkranger85
binvalidateolderfiles=1 is all good. After I save my mod in GECK do I have to move the file into the data file manually? If so where do I find the saved file? If not then the file still isnt showing up.
Smosh
It should give you a choice of where to put it via a messagebox. What did you call your mod? You could search All files and folders for yourmodname.esp
darkranger85
Ok heres what I did. I followed the instructions in the tutorial and opened GECK and loaded fallout3.esm and then saved and named the file Vault74. Now I then built a section of the vault and saved it, it didnt give me any options of where to save it, just brought up the data window and I can see it there. When I searched for Vault74.esp I found it and tried to move it into the data folder but it acted as if the file is already in there and made a shortcut instead, but I dont see the actual file in the folder anywhere. darkranger85
Got it to work by running GECK in admin mode. Thanks!
