Sigurd44
I use that mod since ages in combination with Skyrim HD 2k, SMIM and Enhanced Lights and FX. I guess lot of mod users know that a few Skyrim HD 2k, a lot of SMIM and ELFX meshes (.nif files) overwrite Better Dynamic Snow meshes and vice versa. In addition BDS and SMIM deliver additonal .esp files. So my question is, which should overwrite what and where in my load order do I have to arrange the BDS, the SMIM and the ELFX .esp files for the best effect? I want to have that cleared now at last, because I am still somewhat groping in the dark concerning those three mods.
prod80
Hey Sigurd44... I think those instructions are well written on the mod page  If you want even better snow get this mod... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/743/ .... it's a .bsa, you have to unpack it (or Skyrim HD will overwrite the textures, being loose files and all that s***) and then manually place them. They look good ... you don't need the bsa/esp afterwards, just use like any loose file texture replacer.
Sigurd44
I read the mod pages, but - to be honest - I couldn't figure out the true systematics how this mods really work in interaction. Ok, I understand that there won't be overriden any .dds files aka texture files, but I wonder why there are mesh conflicts at all...Especially the .esp files give me headache. Concerning the snow mod...I compared a lot, but this one http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29036/? is my absolute favorite. Snow textures depend a lot of the lighting mods you use, I use RCRNv36 which gives a realistic, less saturated almost harsh white lighting. Other snow mods appear as large blank white fields under this light, this snow mod delivers more granularity to the snow textures and this looks really better under RCRNv36 lighting. RCRNv36 delivers own snow textures, but they are ugly as hell and pretty oudated and changing them does not harm the other functions of that mod. prod80
ah ok, using ENB myself, might make a lot of difference... Didn't try that snow texture yet, lemme get it :pI use also a config that desaturates under direct lighting, instead of saturating everything to hell like most ENBs do. Don't really like saturated colors, now tweaking a sepia filter in sweetfx to not act like sepia but adding some additional color effect... CoT weather colors are giving me a hard time, I might just patch that mod instead of endless fiddling about with shader codes and whatnot. I don't think you need to be afraid of the meshes... the conflicts are in lanterns according to the mod page... and mod author is advising to overwrite, so I guess he knows what is looking best and why :)
