KG989
Thank you everyone for your sincere and wonderful help in this matter. To tell the truth I was a bit nervous about asking such questions for the potential ridicule that it might have thrown my way. The responses till now being the exact opposite of any such antagonism; and being a greatly informative and helpful I offer my most sincere thanks to all of you. Rennn
To everything: absolutely not. :) SKSE is not endorsed by Steam or Bethesda, but it's not illegal or illegitimate either. I have Steam online every waking hour (literally, every second that my PC is turned on) and it doesn't care if you have SKSE installed. I've validated my game files many times with SKSE installed, without any problems. I've also reinstalled Skyrim a few times after using SKSE, also without any problems. Bethesda and Steam both publicly support modding, and SKSE is not in any way an illegal form of mod or utility. Steam actually hosts large mods that require SKSE. It's a self-contained set of files that go directly into your Skyrim folder, and it does not affect anything in your PC except Skyrim itself. Furthermore, it does not permanently change Skyrim at all and can be removed at any time (although doing so will also deactivate any mods that require it). 69mAnU96
Asking questions is a good way to learn, and this community is a pleasant bunch, so fire away :-) And of course, I use SKSE.
