Slew
Yeah, I would also suggest trying windowed mode.I fixed my CTD issues by playing windowed (don't own the DLC though). Don't forget to use this little tool: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=45 if windowed mode fixes the problem.

TehReaper
I've got this problem... If I'm playing full-screen, and it crashes, its stuck on that screen forever. And now when I go near the Capitol Buildings entrance, it just crashes. Even in Windowed.
zhangweizheng3
the windowed mode fixed my crashing issues, but why are there crashes in fullscreen in the first place? this doesn't make sense also does the maximum window mod just fill the edges with black clolor? You should not HAVE to play in windowed mode. The game is completely broken

Well there is a difference with the way DirectX is drawing the image when the game is in windowed mode, because it has to draw it alongside the Windows desktop. Why this is causing crashes is up to Bethesda to find out. The MaximizedWindow mod doesn't look any different than the regular full-screen mode. No black borders or anything.
