Remove Hunting Bow from Follower's Inventory

Hey all, it seems like any given follower that the player can have automatically starts with a hunting bow. For me, creating mages or unarmed brawlers, gets kinda dumb in combat if they start with a bow. Is there somewhere in the Creation Kit that one could change this? Also, if this topic has been brought up before, any links to answers?

Are you trying to create an NPC using a vanilla NPC as a model? If so, better to start from scratch because otherwise, your creation will inherit attributes from the copied NPC you used unless you're careful enough to change everything. Or, you can use a copy of a vanilla NPC that is similar to what you are interested in--for example a mage.

 

Check the class section on the 2nd tap and be sure to pick closest to what you want--mage.

Go to the Inventory and be sure to remove any reference to bow; here you may want him to have a dagger which makes sense that a mage would at least carry a knife or if its a thief, then add another weapon of your choosing into the inventory. You'll want to add spells in too for a mage-type NPC and then be attentive to how you want the NPC to level.
