rawrn00b
You probably remember when I posted this idea a while back, well I finally started to get this idea rolling and came up with some ideas with my friends and formed a team. The team is small so far and we have named ourselves Man Vs Wild Modding Team (MvWMT). We are currently in need of more modelers, a texturer, UVW mapper (optional), scripter, and someone who can help get this all in game when I am not available. I can model, animate, and partially texture but I will mainly be modeling. We already have an outstanding animator for our custom animations, his name is Hayabusa and I will give links so you can see some of his work. I have already started the modeling process and have had some very friendly modders give me things to work with. Special thanks to them! Now to post what we have accomplished so far. First off Hayabusa's work:http://www.youtube.com/user/50dollarsfiftyHe does some excellent animations, please check out his videos! http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq211/S...ng?t=1234812304Model by me, skin by Disaster, thanks Disaster you are insane at what you do! http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq211/S...pg?t=1234812340Old render, WIP squirrel. Model by me not completed http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq211/S...pg?t=1234812408Model by me, WIP. Please critique our work and give us any tips or pointers to improve, and if you want to join the team, or just donate and help us, please don't hesitate to ask, anyone with knowledge of modding is welcome to join!My XFire is sargentcrunchTalk to my there or here (preferably XFire)Thanks in advance! Dasistgutja
With the squirrels, will they be aggressive in-game?Also, will there be variations of the animal? If so, may I suggest that you add weird mutations, such as an extra eye or split tail? That would be great.Apart from that, looks nice. What exactly are you working on though? rawrn00b
Well it all depends on the area, this mod is based off of the T.V show Man Vs Wild. And this mod will heavily rely on the facts that Bear Grylls (the presenter) gives. He often tells stories and gives interesting tid-bits here and there. He said in Siberia squirrels will attack dogs and humans as they fight for survival. So it all depends on where you are in the mod. If you are in the freezing cold areas, then yes the squirrels will attack you and try to kill you. But lets say your in a forest type area then the squirrel will eat acorns and other small foods they are known for eating. And most likely there will be variations but probably not extra appendages, body features, etc.
Dasistgutja
Alright, sounds interesting. Not seen the show myself. How are you planning on implementing the water canteen? Or is it simply a clothing piece?
rawrn00b
Well most likely I will need to find a scripter who can figure out a solution. I was personally thinking of a script that would respawn it back in your inventory after usage as an empty bottle or something along those lines, but I don't have a clue on scripting so it might just be a clothing item. Dasistgutja
Right ok, that would be a good idea. Just a clothing item would be ok, but it might only accentuate the fact that the player can carry X amount of items and only the water has to be visible. The player needs a strong reason to use it though. Maybe a requirement to drink every so often (there is a mod for this, can't remember the author).Don't get me wrong though, I'm a big fan of survival mods. They have real potential in this game. One other question, as I seem to be the only one posting here =/ , are you adding new areas (you said 'freezing cold areas')?Cheers
rawrn00b
Yes, we are adding more areas then one, we will have snowy areas, rainforests, deserts. But not all at once, it will definitely be a while.

rawrn00b
Ok, I will most likely check it out, thanks for the idea. I like Survivorman also and a lot of ideas will come from that show too. You can imagine how much harder I have been noticing the small things in these shows. Canor Morum
I like this idea. I'm a fan of both shows. How about a way to build a shelter? Something that's an inventory item like the portable tent and bedroll for Oblivion? How about some traps that catch animals? A portable fireplace for cooking the meat? Some survival uses for the available clutter in the game? Just a few ideas. This combined with a realism mod would make for some fun role-playing. Good luck. I'll be checking back for updates on this project.
