has anyone ever been annoyd by the fact that you can only enter a house at odd ho urs by picking the lock and tresspassing? one of my favrit feetures from Fable is the ability to knock! i'd like to see this translated in to oblivion if possible its doubly important for me because i'm a vampire who plays by very spacific rules (the need to be invited before entering a household)

The problem is with the application. Even if you reduce it to it's simplist, just changing the ownership of the cell, you're still looking at scripting each and every door individually (meaning 1 unique script for every house, not door). While this might be made a bit more practical using OBSE, there is no function (atleast as far as I'm aware (admittedly not much)) which would return the name of the cell which is linked to the door. If you wanted to actually have the owner of that cell greet you at the door, or even be in the same room when you enter, you're looking at alot more scripting, which would likely need to be specific to each actor. Although this all is possible, and might be doable to some extent, it's really something which is only practical for those specific cases where the player might need a more lawful means of gaining access somewhere after hours.

There is a doorbell in Midas Magic, not sure if it is in or from another, which just has the sound. Would it be easier/possible to use this to, I don't know, unlock the door or have the NPC come out. Or, would that be just as hard as the other ways mentioned?

I wouldnt care if it were a uniqe entrence every time. maybe just a spell that allows yout o "knock" on a door and if it sucedes it unlocks and you gain temporary ownership (maybe a day or so)
