Screechymon
I can't launch Skyrim all of a sudden? I was playing the game fine yesterday, I downloaded some mods using the manager yesterday and today, SKSE was one of them. I played a bit and had some errors and exceptions when activating some mods, fixed most of them with a post from Glover (i believe) regarding anti virus issues. However now when I launch the game immediately after the Bethesda screen, the game closes to desktop. I get a dialog box with "Failed to initialize renderer. Unknown error creating the renderer." and my only option is to click ok. This happens when launching the game using Skse and also thru Steam. I'm New to gaming on the PC and don't really know what I'm doing yet. Simply put, I don't know enough about what I don't know. without the manager to help download the mods, and do the work, I probably still wouldn't be correctly installing any mods. I don't even know what CTD stands for. I'm eager to learn and better understand these processes, I searched the forums for renderer but did not come across my issue. If this has been posted before and answered, then I apologize in advance. I will try to step up my keyword search game. Regards, Screechy
Screechymon
Ok I think the renderer widget is located in my program files where the steam.exe is located it called the GameOverlayRenderer. However that error seemed to stop happening, now when I launch the game it kinda hangs there for 5-10 seconds then boots up. I have a new problem. I can't seem to uninstall the enb. I have read many instructions the enb file is here: http://enbdev.com/doc_skyrim_en.htm I've removed files enbseries.ini, enbeffect.fx, however I can't find d3d9.dll. I've downloaded the enb removal tool, but each time I load Skyrim the enbseries.ini and a couple other enb files somehow reload themselves. If I delete it, then empty my recycle bin, how does the enb reload itself and from where? While I'm typing this I'm uninstalling Skyrim, and reinstalling it. Hopfully that might fix it. If not, do you have any Ideas I should try? Thanks,-screechy
Rennn
Well, you wouldn't find the d3d9.dll unless you got it from the official ENBdev site. The creator (Boris Vorontsov) doesn't allow his d3d9.dll to be uploaded anywhere else, including the Nexus. If you download an ENB mod from the Nexus, it also requires the d3d9.dll from his site. That might explain why you can't find it. The other stuff, I'm not sure about.
prod80
Reinstall Directx9 Runtimed3d9.dll should be located in Skyrim folder, do not delete Window's d3d9.dll file located inside the Windows system folder or replace that file with ENB's file - please don't, you'll screw your system to the point you have to reinstall the OS! (dependent on x86 or x64 OS where exactly, but inside Windows directory for sure). I've seen someone do that, it's not pretty. Remove the ENB files from Skyrim folder... Files (ENB + SweetFX - if sweetFX is present as well) Files inside Skyrim folder (not all have to be present):d3d9.dlld3d9.fxd3d9injFX.dlldxgi.dlldxgi.fxeffect.txtenbbloom.fxenbeffect.fxenbeffectprepass.fxenbpalette.bmpenbseries.inienbsunsprite.fxenbsunsprite.tgainjector.iniSweetFX readme.txtSweetFX_preset.txtSweetFX_settings.txt+SweetFX (folder inside Skyrim folder)

At the moment, in my C:/program files(x86)/steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrimthe only items I have in there are 3 folders and an .ini file: DataDirectX10VCRedistSkyrim_default.ini That being said, Steam is still downloading Skyrim and its only at 49% complete... ( this last bit may be of no consequence but its information none the less ) Regards,-screechy
Screechymon
I reinstalled Skyrim unloaded all mods, reloaded a few plug ins and mods uninstalled Boss and reinstalled it, and started a new game. All seems well, the game opens with almost no delay again. I'm happy right now. Thanks for the assistance, its appreciated. -screechy
