Mirror's Edge

TheTerminator2004

Anyone else played it? I got it yesterday, one of the most amazing games I've ever played tbh, I've finished it already :P Its way too short, and the levels get bland after a while (the rooftops do at least), but the innovative gameplay and stunning story more than make up for that - I loved (almost) every minute of it. Oh, and it has a beautiful sountrack :P

Also, quick question (dunno if it counts as a spoiler, so read at your own risk):

Does anyone know if the Shard, the big tower at the end of the game, was meant to have anything to do with a similar tower being built in London with the same name? Only, they look vaguely similar (not so much the general shape, but in every other respect, and the one in the game was finished in 2012, which is when the real one is going to be complete, so it seemed like too much of a coincidence to me.

Mostly agree, I really liked the idea of the game. Like a first-person tomb-raider, or prince of persia with the running on walls and so forth. It was hard for me to get used to the timing of jumps without being able to see your feet. I ended up replaying areas A LOT, and that really drives me crazy. The color scheme also kind of bothered me, it did look good, but the lack of color just made it feel empty. I suppose that was kind of the idea. Personally, I think I would have more fun watching someone who was good play it. But I did have the console version, so it was probably harder to control. Also thought the E-surance style animated scenes were really nice looking.

I loved it, everything from the colours(or lack thereof) down to the story. The game caught my attention at the first preview I read of it and it hasn't let go ever since. Still have to complete it, but will probably do so very soon. The story is excellent, although a bit cliche. I love the movement, the whole idea of running through the level and jumping/rolling/falling everywhere just appeals a lot to me. The color scheme is perfect(IMO), as I don't think it would have been so easy if everything was normal colors, in fact, here and there I kind of miss feel it is still too colorful(yellowish walls, etc etc).

All around, 9/10 from me.

1 point deducted because everybody says that it is short, and as we all know, games don't come cheap anymore, so it's not very good value for money to buy short games.

I got it for the xbox360.

It was fun, I loved the art style, and the parkour game play. But....

The combat made me want to drown wombats in whale fat.....I'm entirely serious. It was so out of sync, it was kinda like a cruel joke honestly.

Combat aside though >.>. I really enjoyed it over all.

Loved it from the first minute to the last. Unfortunately, it's definately not as exciting the second time you play it. And I'm in the minority in this, but I actually didn't mind fighting the police and soldiers.

In fact, I loved it so much I got into the top 10 finalists for a Mirror's Edge contest in machinima.com :D Unforunately, the final winner is determined by the number of view counts and my video isn't doing too well >.<

HOWEVER, if you wanna do me a favour and help me out -- you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMM4y7Bm5U0

:D
