makament12
Hey, I recently found this website after getting Fallout 3 and let me tell you, you guys have really made the game for me. Ive put in 55 hours and I havent even finished the story or all the quests yet - hell yeah! Just last night I had the desire to do away with the enemy health bar that came up, wanting a more immersive experience. Then I thought, what the hell, might as well just get rid of the whole HUD.. so that I did. I am enjoying it now, but I do have some trouble aiming. I noticed in a drug modification mod that a screen effect was to progressively blur the screen from the outwards in, until the focal point (where the cursor/aimer is, center of the screen) was clear as day. That reminded me of an idea I had for aiming, which is essentially just that - blurring the screen with exception of the middle to assist aiming. Since I am fairly new to the whole modding scene, and am hopeless in GECK (I got lost just trying to find a menu) it would be GREAT if someone experienced could make a plugin so that when you right click to aim, it does what I described. Considering its only a screen effect that is already built into the game, I am assuming that it would be fairly easy in capable hands (though I am likely to be terribly wrong). So any takers? I would be forever greatful :)
makament12
Here's a pic showing the general jist of the idea - it was from some drug so theres alot of saturation and the like, but the blur is fairly evident. Is this possible? Anyone?
Smosh
I'm guessing that could be done via a script that triggers if a weapon is out and right click is held down. Personally, that effect would get on my nerves every time I wanted to aim. I'd rather wait for the iron sights mod.
Krypt 0011
It's a cool idea but as said above I think it would get pretty annoying after a while. Iron sights seem like a cool idea.
makament12
I am going to enjoy the iron sights mod, but that wont really help when playing from a third person perspective. I can see how this effect could get annoying, but I wouldnt want it as pronounced and blurred as that pic - thats just a point of reference. Anyone know of anyone that could help? Or could direct me to some GECK tutorials that deal with scripts and screen effects?
Cotton007
well... there's a cheat that toggles the HUD. it kinda removes EVERYTHING even your own healthpush "~" then type "tm" both without quotes. Hope this helps. If not, good luck with the mod Iron sites would be way cool btw
makament12
heh yeah ive tried that cheat... the problem is that it takes away the pipboy menu as well :P plus it doesnt help with aiming I am getting better at aiming without an aimer but it would still be pretty cool
Smosh
What is that drug effect?
makament12
I think it was LSD from one of the drug mods. That or PCB or something.
einherjrar
I think it was LSD from one of the drug mods. That or PCB or something. I don't know about drugs, but I recognize that screen blur effect from a crippled/concussed head. it's really disorienting trying to shoot out of a fisheye lens. $0.
