Load Order trouble shooting

Hey, i'm relatively new to modding and pc gaming, the difference wow. anyway I've spent the best part of two week getting skyrim to run decently on my laptop, keep in mind its not the best for gaming i'm planning on a custom desktop right now, I've got skyrim running and looking good on medium settings but haven't managed to get over 15fps . I've done everything to boost it and i mean everything and the only thing i haven't addressed correctly is the load order can i get a few pointers on this? Not all of these are active btw and i really do hesitate to ask

I thank anyone for their time

Doing reinstall is not going to fix your fps... :wink:

You can boost performance a little... try this;

In skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini (my documents\my games\skyrim) disable all shadows (so set values from 1 to 0 on shadows)... check performance... did it help? good. Now install a lighting mod if you didnt have already (Realistic Lighting Overhaul for interior and Climates of Tamriel for exterior) to compensate for the loss of shadows.

Shadows are calculated on your CPU in Skyrim, so taking that load off will boost graphic performance on systems that do not have a dedicated GPU.

Here's some tweaks you might wanna try in those ini files;

Skyrim.ini

[Display]
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=1
bShadowsOnGrass=0
bActorSelfShadowing=0

[Grass]
iMinGrassSize=75

SkyrimPrefs.ini

[Display]
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=1
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=1
iShadowMapResolution=1
iShadowMapResolutionInt=1
iActorSelfShadow=0
iActorSelfShadowResolution=1
iMultiSample=0
bFXAAEnabled=0
iShadowMapResolution=1
iWaterMultiSamples=0
bTreesReceiveShadows=0
bDrawLandShadows=0
bDrawShadows=0
bShadowsOnGrass=0

[Particles]
iMaxDesired=40

[Trees]
uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=10

i know of the shadow thing but yours more in depth, i tried it got about two extra fps. I just have to deal with 18fps until i can get a decent rig, I've squeezed every last bit of performance out of this machine, thanks for the help
